Sunday Stills THE LETTER "G"

This week's Sunday Still's challenge is the Letter "G". As stated, "so here you have it, anything that begins with the letter “G” A simple challenge but could prove to be fun." As I thought of something horsey to start photographing, snow or no snow, the first thing I saw when I walked to the barn was the grain bin!

I like this last photo best. I like the tree in the foreground, with branches in front of the bin. What are your thoughts? Which photo do you like and what do you like about it? thanks!

I agree, the final photo is the best of the three. I love the red barn door and trim contrasting against the grey's of winter. Red barns have always been my favorite. There is something very nostalgic about the color red and a barn that I love. You are right, the tree is very important to making this photo artistic vs commercial. Why I say that is the other two shots are more descriptive of the silo itself, whereas when you widen the shot, and add the tree it changes the shot entirely to becomes a scene rather than an object. The composition is further strengthened by shooting the barn from the corner which adds perspective again giving the photo more appeal. Excellent job!

I like the second to last shot because you get the tree but also more focus on the Grain bin. Good choice.

The last photo, the red of the door really makes the difference to me. The red is a real nice contrast in all of your shot, but the last one seems to have the right amount for my eye. I also agree that the last one is more of a scene rather than a shot of an object. "Good" job.

I agree. I like the last photo. The tree in the foreground actually gives it more character. Great photos though sweetie! This sure was a CHALLENGE!!!

I like the second to the last shot because you don't get lost wondering what the photos is about or of, like in the last shot. And the tree is still to act as a frame. Very nice!

And good for you keeping your eyes open for G-things. :)

My eye is definitely drawn to the third photo. I love the tree branches across the upper portion of the frame. And the red trim is a nice contrast to the gray of the bin.
