Sunday Stills: PETS

Today's Sunday Stills topic is Pets. Our pets include 7 horses, 5 dogs, and 18 barn cats!

Our horses:

Four of my 7 horses, Shaggy, Buster, Duster, Starlet, and 2 of my boarder's horses, Bubba and Honey.

Shaggy and Starlet

My dogs, Posie and Lady,

Lady, my 7 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel

Posie, my 3 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd

My son, Micah's, 3 Beagles,

8 year old Ace, 7 year old Daisy, and 9 year old AJ.

And the "herd" of cats

I love the sharpness between the black and white.

We are amazed at how white the white is!

We love our animals!

Thanks everyone. All of the animals are pretty easy to care for. The barn cats literally have the run of the barns! I do like their striped markings.
Sarah, I'm sure you'll have a horse some day! Jan, I do have 3 boarders so they help pay for the feed. I do love my horses! Shirley, actually, with feeding round bales, and during the off season of riding, I only grain once a day, so chores take 1/2 hour when I fill water tanks and grain horses and feed dogs and cats at the same time, and the other feed time during the day, I only have to feed dogs and cats. I like to get my 2 dogs out to run each day though. the beagles are content in a large horse stall during the winter!

Oh wow! That is a heck of a lot of cats. Did they breed and become that many, or did someone dump them off at your place, or did you bring them all to your ranch individually?
I've never seen that many cats all in one place before. lol!

Such pretty colors and patterns, though. YOur horses are all beautiful, fat and happy looking. Did you get to ride them all? Which one/s are your favorite/s?

Thanks for sharing.

Lisa, no, that is about the number of cats I have each year, the number doesn't seem to change by this time each year. Numbers increase from new litters in the spring to losing some as others go hunting and don't come back. It is amazing the colors that we are getting. We love the ones with white collars, because the white is so white!

Yes, the horses get fat on the round bales this time of year, which is a good thing. They are staying warm. 3 of the horses are boarder's horses. 2 or 3 of the horses are lesson horses, but I still ride them occasionally, so they continue to listen to the little kids! lol I have a stud who is in the lot by himself. I'll be riding 2 of them next spring, potentially to sell, and I'll be riding another one to keep for my riding horse. My favorite is Starlet, as she and I really bonded, as I raised her from a baby and rode her when she was young. My other fav was Finny, who is pictured on my other blog, but just died of colic in Oct. I also love riding my stud, Duke! I love his long strided canter!!!
