Sunday Stills "Light Painting"

This week's Sunday Still's challenge is "Light Painting".  This weeks challenge is a fun one. Set your camera on a slower shutter speed…….or just turn the flash off on a point and shoot, find some lights and shoot them moving your camera as you do. You can also find some moving lights (traffic for instance) and photograph those (a tripod or setting your camera on something and using a remote or the timer works well for this). You could also have someone (even yourself-using your cameras timer and a slow shutter speed) use a flashlight in the dark. The challenge in this is to play with aperture and shutter speed. Be creative;

I'm not sure I did this right, but here goes.

Christmas tree lights ( yes, I know, its the end of the first week of Jan, and I still have my tree up.)

Now the lights look like candy canes.

And now the lights are out of focus and are circular.

A wall light,

A child's flashlight,

A hanging light without the covers, trying to move the camera as I took the photo.

Sunday Still's "Happy New Year Challenge"

January 1, 2012

The Sunday Still's "Happy New Year Challenge" was from Linda from Colorado Farm Life.  She suggested this challenge. We are to post our favorite photo from 2011 and our photographic hopes for 2012. Happy New Year everyone and all the best to you in the coming year!

For 2012, I just hope to learn more about photography and take better shots.
Enjoy some of my favorite pics of my grandchildren.

Makenzie and Caden are excited to be together for Thanksgiving and their Birthday Party time.

Tyler is almost sitting up!

I love Tyler's smile.

Makenzie loves to run and yell!

Caden with baby brother Tyler.

Caden is all buff in his swim suit!

And these last photos are a series of the Makenzie and Caden in August, when we had them here for part of a week.  Makenzie is in CO and wasn't used to our humidity.  They helped me to feed horses and we were walking inside.

After showers, they were played out and watching a movie!

Sunday Stills "Backlit"

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is "Backlit".

I has a hard time finding something that would work.  I like this first one the best. Can you guess?

It is ice/frost on the car's windshield. (We got out first snow of the season, about 5" yesterday).

You can alost see the grain of the material that these leaves are made from.
Light coming through 2 windows.

The first one is the front door with sunlight coming through.

This is the glass in the back door with the outside light on last night.
