Sunday Stills "History"

The Sunday Still's challenge is History, anything over 60 years old.

The history on the bed:
My husband's grandfathter, "Pop", made this bed in about 1910. Some of his 13 children slept in it. The bed was made out of wild cherry. Tom's Pop was a woodworker that finished the inside of railroad passenger cars. In about 1940, when all the kids left home, it went to the tobacco shed, where it sat for 15 years. My husband's mom and dad needed it when they started their family. They had to get it out of the tobacco shed and clean it up. Look at the intricate detail.

The bed has been in Tom's parent's family since, and is in the spare bedroom of his Mom's house. His dad has passed away, but he appreciated the old ways. Tom and I appreciate these antiques also. The work and craftmanship that went into this era of furniture is outstanding.

I just happened to come across this photo tonight, as I was wondering what to post on Sunday Stills. As I talked to my husband, I learned something new about this bed, and we have been married for 29 years. I suppose we all should talk to someone who knows our family history, before it is lost.

Sunday Stills "Go Low Looking High"

This week's Sunday Stills challenge is fun! "Go Low Looking High". Yes, once again it's the grandbabies. This time, the 2 of them are together, which hasn't happened since Christmas time.

They were looking at me over the couch, as I was laying on the ground looking up at them. They thought that was a treat (since they were standing on the couch when they weren't suppose to be) and they thought it was very funny playing peek-a-boo with me.

We were at the park. I fogot about the challenge title this week until I got home, or I should have had a lot better "looking up" shots than these.

Makenzie walking "up high". I wished I had taken more of that bright blue sky in the background!

Caden with daddy, climbing high and getting ready to slide down.

Macro Monday "Kangaroo"

Macro Monday is of a kangaroo? Can you guess from what?

I'm at a Centered Riding clinic. I'm staying in my horse trailer. No tv, so I'm listening to the radio, Country Music of course, and posting on Sunday Stills, posting on my blog, Horses Are Our Lives, reading a chat group, and drinking this... a [yellow tail] merlot. This is their logo. Life is good! lol

Sunday Stills "Eyes"

Sunday Stills challenge is eyes. Since I'm visiting my granddaughter, I thought I could do her eyes. You know how hard it is to get a little one to be still?

Makenzie, my 18 month old granddaughter, eyes, when she is blowing me a kiss.

Makenie, her pony and I. She just got her pony yesterday!
